The following corrections/revisions were made May 6, 2005 to the 2004 N.C. TB Control Policy Manual. Items in bold reflect policy revisions or significant updates.
Chapter II
P. 5 Item l.1 → correction of NCAC reference
Chapter IV
P. 1 Item 5 → addition of diagnostic testing guidelines for pediatric cases
P. 5 Item 4.b → new statement about steroids for meningeal TB in children
P. 13 Item 2.d → perform hearing/ataxia testing every month while taking SM
P. 16 Item K.2.e → changed e to d
P. 29 Item Z → maximum dose for daily ethambutol in children and adults is now 2.5 gm
Item AA → corrected table for PZA; twice weekly dose for 56-75 kg is 3000 mg (40.0-53.6)
P. 25-30 → New English and Spanish model Isolation Orders for TB Control and for Limiting Freedom of Movement and Access
Chapter V
P. 2 Item B.1 → corrected NCAC reference
P. 2 Items B.2 and B.3 → new recommendations for annual tuberculin skin testing
